Biography

Mª Luisa Gómez Moreno, born January 29, 1958. Degree in Geography History and Art by the University of Málaga, 1980. Doctor in Geography in 1985 by the same University. Lecturer in the area of ​​knowledge of Regional Geographic Analysis of the Department of Geography of the University of Málaga since 1989. She teaches in the degree of Geography and Territorial Management and is coordinator in Málaga of the interuniversity master's degree "Geographical analysis in the management of the territory. Technologies of the Geographic Information ". His research activity focuses on theoretical and practical work on local, endogenous and sustainable development and on the effects of regional policies on the territory, mainly applied to Mediterranean mountain areas and to the Autonomous Community of Andalusia. Since 1992 he has been a member of the Valle del Genal Working Group and one of the founding members of the Nueva Cultura Foundation. He was spokesman for the Claustral Group "Galileo" (1996-2000). From 1999 to 2003 he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Spanish Geographers. She is currently president of the Governing Board of Sª de las Nieves Natural Park.She was awarded her Ph.D. in Geography in 1985 and since 1989 has been Senior Lecturer in Regional Geographic Analysis at the University of Malaga (Spain). She teaches subjects in the undergraduate degree in Geography and Territorial Management and is Coordinator of the Master's Degree in Geographical Analysis in Territorial Planning and Geographic Information Technologies. In the post-industrial society, rural development is characterized by a large number of rural areas.
