Biography
Mª Ángeles Real Avilés holds a degree in Biological Sciences (1992) and a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Málaga (1999). Researcher Contracted (2001-2002), Associate Professor (2002-2005), Contracted Professor Doctor (2005-2009) and since 2009 is Full Professor in the area of Cellular Biology at the University of Málaga (UMA). My research career has been focused since 1992 on the area of Neurobiology. I have participated as a full-time researcher in a total of 9 Research Projects. In the first years I was dedicated to the area of Comparative Neurobiology conducting studies in the telencephalic and diencephalic regions in lacértidos and birds. Subsequently in mammals I dedicated myself to the study of regions such as the hippocampus, the cloister and the amygdala.
