Biography

Manuel Marí Beffa holds a degree and doctor (1987) in Biological Sciences from the University of Málaga. In February of 1992 he joined the UMA with a contract as an Assistant Professor and in 1995 he became an Interim Assistant Professor. Since October 1996 he has been Professor of Cell Biology at the Department of Cell Biology, Genetics and Physiology at the University of Málaga (UMA). His scientific career has been completed with several postdoctoral stays in 1987-1991 in the laboratory of Genetics of Development Of Professor García Bellido of the Center for Molecular Biology "Severo Ochoa" of the CSIC. He has also enjoyed several stays abroad, at the Loeb Health Research Institute of Ottawa Civic Hospital in Ottawa, Ontario (Canada, year 2000), with molecular biologist Marie Andrée Akimenko, and at the University of Constance, With two contracts of Visiting Professor and a scholarship from the DAAD, with the fish ecologist Axel Meyer of the University of Constance (Germany, 2001-2003).
