Marc Stefan Dawid-milner

Biography

Bachelor (MD83) and Doctor of Medicine and Surgery (PhD 86) from the University of Navarre. Specialist in Autonomic Nervous System, is incorporated as a Professor Head of University Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Málaga in 1989. He has been Director of the Animal Experimentation Center of the UMA (1995-2001), Director of the Center for Medical Medical Research (CIMES) (2001-2004) and from the year 2004 to present Director of the Department of Human Physiology and Physical Education and Sports. Since 2005 he is responsible for the Unit of Neurophysiology of the System Autonomic Nervous System of the Center for Medical Medical Research (CIMES) of the General University of Málaga Foundation (FGUMA). He is Director of the Doctorate "Neuroscience and its Clinical Applications", President of the Spanish Society Autonomic Nervous System (2009-2013) and Member of the Executive Directorate of the European Federation of Autonomic Nervous System (EFAS) Care work The care work focuses on the functional evaluation of dysautonomia, and performed at the Human Neurophysiology Service of CIMES in the Unit of Neurophysiology of the Autonomic Nervous System. Lines of investigation As a Neurophysiologist of the Autonomic Nervous System his research work has been oriented to the study of the mechanisms of central cardiorespiratory control "in vivo" both in experimental animals and humans. The work of basic-translational research has focused on the study of the activity of protruding bulb neurons and involvement of pontine regions and suprapontins in the modulation of central cardiorespiratory activity by placing special interest in the study of the possible mechanisms responsible for apnea and central hypertension.
