Biography
He is a university professor in the area of knowledge of Inorganic Chemistry in University of Málaga since 2009. He obtained a Bachelor's degree in Sciences (Chemicals) in 1987 and the Doctorate in Chemical Sciences in 1991, both at the University of Málaga. His scientific training continued with a postdoctoral stay at the Université de Montpellier II (France) in the period 1992-1995. His research activity has focused on the development of inorganic materials mesoporous for use as catalysts in environmental chemical processes. In recent years, this research has focused on the preparation of catalysts Solid processes for sustainable catalytic processes, involved in the production of Biofuels and high added-value chemicals from their integration into the processes involved in biorefineries. Among his academic positions, he has been Secretary of the Department of Chemistry Inorganic, Crystallography and Mineralogy (2000-2004), Secretary of the Faculty of Sciences (2004-2010) and Director of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, Crystallography And Mineralogy from the year 2010 to the present. Has participated in European and national research projects, and since the year 2004 is Principal Investigator of research projects of the National R & D & I Plan Directed to the production of biodiesel and to the valorization of glycerine and sugars, by heterogeneous catalysis. In addition, since January 2014, he is a Researcher responsible for the Research Group of Excellence of the Junta de Andalucía "New Inorganic Materials "(FQM-155). He is a co-author of 5 patents and 110 Magazines collected in SCI, and has been co-director of 6 Doctoral Theses.
