Biography
He holds a PhD in biological sciences from the Musée National d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris, and has been a researcher at this institution since 1998 and is a professor in the Department of Animal Biology at the University of Málaga. His research is centered on the systematics of marine molluscs in Europe and West Africa, with particular attention to the fauna surrounding the Strait of Gibraltar. In this area he has participated in several oceanographic campaigns and research projects aimed at the study of benthic fauna. He is taxonomic editor in the databases "World Register of Marine Species" and "CLEMAM". He is a member of the board of directors of the Spanish Society of Malacology, as editor of the magazine "Iberus
