Biography
Psychologist (Degree of Honor, 1996) of the National University of Colombia and doctor in psychology (Thesis Outstanding Cum Laude by Unanimity, 2001) by the University of Seville (Spain). He obtained his doctorate thanks to the Mutis scholarship of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation. He did postdoctoral studies in the United States (with Mauricio R. Papini at Texas Christian University, 2007) and Chile (with Edgar H. Vogel at the University of Talca, 2008). He has been a full-time professor at Colombian and Chilean universities and is a visiting professor at universities in Colombia, Mexico and Argentina. Co-founder (Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá, 2002) and leader (2008-2013) of the research group "EC Studies in Behavioral Sciences". He is currently Professor of the Psychology Program, School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universidad del Rosario (Bogotá) and Director of the international journal indexed Avances en Psicología Latinoamericana (2004-2015). Its research program is the basic and applied psychology of associative learning, within which the Observatory of Behavior of Self-medication currently develops. Winner of the Colombian Prize for Psychology, 2010, category Researcher of Excellence. Professor Distinguished by the University of Rosario (2010). Elected member of the National Board of Directors of the Colombian College of Psychologists (2011-2014, reelected for the period 2014-2017). Research Associate of the National System of Science, Technology and Innovation of Colciencias (since 2014). Selected in the call of the Sabbath, year 2015, of the Universidad del Rosario. Visiting Professor of the University of São Paulo, Brazil (2015; host: José Lino Oliveira Bueno).
