Biography

Master's Degree in Basic Medical Sciences, emphasis in Human Genetics, University Teaching Specialist, Universidad del Rosario, Colombia, Licentiate in Chemistry, Francisco José de Caldas District University, Colombia. Graduated in Services Management. CIDE. and Community management and social management. Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Bogotá DC. He has worked as a teacher at the University of the Forest in the years 1979 to 1997 in the subjects: Histology, Comparative Anatomy, Cell Biology and Biochemistry. In 1997 belonged to the Morphology group of the Faculty of Medicine of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. She has been a manager of community training projects for people with disabilities and has participated in environmental conservation research projects, as President of the Community Action Board from 1999 to 2003. Since 1997, she has been involved in the University of Rosario as researcher in the Biology Unit belongs to the group of research in Basic Medical Sciences of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rosario in the lines of Medical Entomology and Molecular Biology. In her academic work she participated as a researcher in the projects: 1) "cadaveric entomophalus in Bogotá DC" 2) Mass breeding of sterile larvae, under laboratory conditions, for use in biosurgery " 3) Molecular and enzymatic analysis of glucose 6 phosphate deshydrogenase. In a sample of the population of Bogotá 4) Primary cell cultures of the superficial epithelium of the ovary 5) Telomere dynamics and telomerase expression in the superficial epithelium of the ovary and its relation with aging, cellular senescence and oncogenesis 6) Pilot study to evaluate it of the polymorphism of the PRNP gene encoding the prion protein.
