Biography
Undergraduate in Environmental Sciences, Universitá di Parma (2001). Master of Science in Remote Sensing, University College of London (2002). PhD in Ecology, Universitá di Parma / European Commission Joint Research Center (2006). Postdoctoral, European Commission Joint Research Center (2009-2012). Associate Professor, Universidad del Rosario (2013 to date).
Research Interest
He have extensive research interests covering the areas of landscape ecology, remote sensing and geospatial analysis. My current research interests are focused on: (i) obtaining and using Earth observation data for mapping and modeling terrestrial habitats; (ii) the development of spatially explicit indicators for the representation and evaluation of ecosystem services; iii) the qualitative ecological modeling of complex systems. My previous research has focused on the analysis of land use change in protected areas, the assessment of the connectivity and fragmentation of the landscape in highly intervened environments, methodologies for the mapping of forests and riparian areas, analysis of ecosystem services to large scale and ecology of fire.
