Biography
Álvaro Rodríguez-Carballeira is Professor of Social Psychology at the University of Barcelona, where he has completed three officially approved six-year research terms and four officially approved five-year teaching terms. He has participated in numerous competitive research projects, in 12 of which he was the principal investigator, and he has also coordinated two teaching innovation projects. He currently leads the ‘Invictus Research’ group, whose work focuses primarily on the psychology of influence and on psychological violence and harassment, whether in terms of subjection, such as that which occurs in couple relationships or abusive groups (sects), or in terms of exclusion, as in the case of workplace mobbing or persecution through terrorism. He coordinates the University of Barcelona’s doctoral programme on the psychology of psychosocial intervention, and was head of the Department of Social Psychology from 1999 until 2008.
