Biography
Estela Illa Bachs a Professor from Department of Botany at University of Barcelona. Her topic of interest is Functional ecology of alpine communities, congestion ecology, vegetation cartography and habitats.
Research Interest
I have combined the cartography of vegetation and habitats using geographic information systems with the study of different high-mountain vegetation communities. Specifically, I have studied different aspects of the congestion vegetation, such as its microclimatic parameters, the seed bank and the variation in flower composition in long-term follow-up. I have also worked on aspects of functional ecology of alpine vegetation, basically as regards functional attributes and biomass compartmentalization.
