Biography
José Azar received his Ph.D. and master's degree in Economics from Princeton University and his bachelor's degree in Economics from the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella. He specializes in industrial organization and applied econometrics. He has worked on matters in the food, retail and telecommunications industries, among others. His research studies the effect on competition of common ownership by large and diversified asset managers, and its implications for policy. Prof. Azar has also studied the effects of changes in the macroeconomic environment on the holdings of liquid assets by corporations.
