Biography
Tara Paradie joined the PT faculty as an adjunct faculty member in pediactrics in 2009, and became a core faculty member in 2016. Motivated by a personal love of learning and appreciation of student life, she has a paricular interest in cultivating leadership in students, international service learning and its application to pediatric physical therapy. A life-long participant in YMCA related work, she received a BS from Springfield College in exercise science and general studies in 1993, and a Master of Science degree from Springfield College in 1994. From 1996-1999, she specialized in traumatic brain injury, leading the Brain Injury team at HealthSouth Rehabiliatation Hospital in Concord, NH. For the last 16 years she has specialized in school-based physical therapy and early intervention, and international service learning with experiences in rural population and orphanage work in Romania, India and Ecuador. She is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Rehabilitation program at Drexel University, where her doctoral work focuses on child engagement and participation in children diagnosed with cerebral palsy.
