Biography
Mark Carges serves on the board of directors of Splunk and Magnet Systems. He was previously chief technology officer at eBay Inc. from 2009 to 2014, and served on their leadership team since 2008, overseeing eBay Inc.’s platform strategy, as well as having overall responsibility for technology, software development, and site operations for eBay.com. Prior to joining eBay Inc., Mark was at BEA Systems, a provider of enterprise application infrastructure software which was acquired by Oracle in 2008. During more than a decade at BEA, Mark held a variety of senior technology leadership roles, including chief technology officer. He began his career at Bell Labs as one of the original architects of Tuxedo, software for constructing highly scalable transaction processing applications. Mark holds a bachelor of arts from the University of California at Berkeley and a master of science degree from New York University.
