Biography
He began his professional career in 1972 in the state-owned engineering company INECO where he held various positions. In 1988 he became International Director joining RENFE where he held various positions. In 2000 he was appointed Executive Chairman of INECO until 2002 when he was appointed Chairman-CEO of AENA until 2004 when he was appointed Adviser to the Presidency of RENFE. He has worked as advisor to ADIF, Works, Roads and Asphalts, POINTEC, INCOSA and MENZIES AVIATION and has been Chairman of the Spanish Consortium for the concession and exploitation of Rio Janeiro-Sao Paulo-Campinas’ (Brazil) high-speed line.
