Biography
Julie Jones has extended experience working in geochemistry having worked at Humble Geochemical Services with Dan Jarvie. She gained experience in the geochemical laboratory preparing rock samples and operating Rock-Eval instruments. She managed sample login for the lab after completing high school. Mrs. Jones then pursued other interests in the computer and technology field. She worked seven years studying databases, web design and network management before returning to Humble Geochemical Services to help with database management software implementation and customer reporting. She also has handled the various geochemical studies available from Humble Geochemical Services. In 2007, she continued to work for Weatherford Laboratories leaving and joining Worldwide Geochemistry at the end of 2008. At Worldwide Geochemistry, she is project manager for consulting projects, research activities, and database development. She has developed an unconventional shale resource database that is available for purchase from Worldwide Geochemistry. Mrs. Jones also manages all accounting and financial analysis for Worldwide thus bringing technical and financial knowledge to the business. In February 2012 she presented the history and geochemistry of the Humble Salt Dome field, northwestern Harris County, Texas at the annual meeting of the Petroleum History Institute. She collected oil samples for geochemical fingerprinting and assembled both the historical and geochemical record of the field. This paper is available in the Petroleum History Institute’s annual journal. She is also in charge of operations for Wildcat Technologies, the manufacturer of the HAWK pyrolysis instrument.
