Biography
Dr. Thushan DeSilva has 16 years of post-residency experience. He hails from Pittsburgh, PA, but has called San Antonio his home since 2000. Dr. DeSilva was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate from The Johns Hopkins University in 1992. He received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. DeSilva completed his Internship in Internal Medicine and his residency in Dermatology, both at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He was honored as the Chief Dermatology Resident during his final year of residency. He has been a member of the San Antonio Dermatology Society for all 16 years where he has served as President from 2009 to 2011. He has volunteered at the Dermatology Residency Program at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio since arriving in 2000. He is a leader in psoriasis where he speaks for numerous companies with cutting edge therapies. He is also one of the only two certified Allergan injector trainers in the San Antonio area.
