M.f.a Riyas

Biography

M.F.A Riyas is a business visionary who was born in Kandy and was a student of Kingswood College. He was also the captain of the college Rugby team. He excelled in his studies as well as sports. He started his business career at a younger age when he was employed for two years in Kuwait, which gave him the basic experience that set the foundation for his future dynamic business career. In 1990 on his return to Sri Lanka he was appointed as an agent to State Pharmaceutical Corporation and many other multinational as a distributor for Central province. In 1995 a globally reputed manufacturer of world class healthcare products Kutekof Turkey collaborated with Forte group of companies where a new venture was set up. This was a BOI project initiated by Mr. Riyas and was named as Forte Healthcare Pvt. ltd and granted the total marketing rights for these products to Hemas Pharmaceuticals in Sri Lanka. Because of his stronghold in the healthcare industry, in 2009 Global Hospitals group India appointed Forte International as their strategic partner for Sri Lanka and Maldives. He is responsible for setting up an office for “Global Hospital Information & Facilitating Centre” to assist and facilitate the patients seeking international medical assistance in Sri Lanka and Maldives.
