Biography
Dr Jasinghe was instrumental in establishing the Trauma Secretariat under the Ministry of Health and became its Founder Head. Formation of the Trauma Secretariat paved the way for a systematic approach in management of trauma. He was one of the steering committee members which pioneered "The Colombo Emergency and Rescue Service" also known as "110".Dr.Jasinghe is a keen researcher who had done quite a large number of research few are named to be, A Prevalence Study of Filariasis in Two Field assistant Areas in the Medical Officer of Health Area, Kelaniya; December 2003, A study of Injury Profiles, Evaluation of Outcome and Hospital Resource Utilization by Injured Pedestrians and Vehicle Occupants Admitted to Accident and Orthopedics Service of the National Hospital of Sri Lanka, November 2007. He served as a board member to the State Pharmaceutical Cooperation and National Transport Commission. He is a member of the Board of Study in Medical administration at the Post Graduate Institute of the University of Colombo.
