Ph.D. degree - Obtained from Hiroshima University, Japan on 21 March 2002. M.Sc. degree (Technology of Crop Protection) - Obtained from University of Reading, U.K. in October 1991. B.Sc. degree (Agriculture) Second Class Upper Division Honours - Obtained from University of Peradeniya, Peradeniya, Sri Lanka on February 1988.
Research Interest
Biological control of field and postharvest diseases by antagonistic microflora, Biological control of plant pathogenic nematodes using naturally-inhabiting microbial antagonists, Structural and functional genome analysis of prokaryotic and eukaryotic genomes, Elucidation of transcriptomes of salt and drought tolerance in rice, Proteomics on systemically-induced resistance in host plants by microbial antagonists.
