Thilini Dulanjali Kularatne

Biography

I obtained my Bachelors Degree from Faculty of Science, University of Peradeniya Sri Lanka with a first class honors in 2011. During 2011-2013 I served as a Lecturer (Temporary) at Department of Statistics and Computer Science, Faculty of Science University of Peradeniya. I was interested on how Statistics can be implied in the areas like Finance and Insurance. Therefore, I started my Masters at University of Colombo in Financial Mathematics in 2013. During the period of 2013 to 2014 I was attached to Department of Statistics and Computer Science, Faculty of Applied Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenapura as a Lecturer (Temporary). In 2015 I completed my Masters in Financial mathematics from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. I was privileged to join the Department of Statistics and Computer Science, Faculty of Science University of Peradeniya again as a Lecturer (Probationary) in February 2014. I completed my Master by Research (MRes) from Department of Statistics, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia in June 2017. I did my research in the area of Developing Numerical Methods in Optimal Stopping Problems. Currently I am doing my PhD studies in the area of Actuarial Statistics. My research topic is based on Developing Modern Statistical techniques in Mortality Forecasting.
