Biography
Professor Prasanna Perera has a B.A (Honours – First Class) in Economics from the University of Peradeniya, and a MA and a PhD in Economics. He joined the Department of Economics, University of Peradeniya in 1995, has nearly 20 years of teaching experience in the University of Peradeniya and currently serves as a Professor in Economics. His research areas include international finance, monetary economics, political economy, macroeconomics and forecasting. Presently he holds the position of Vice Chairman at the Sri Lanka Ports Authority and serves on the Boards of other Associate Companies of SLPA and Civil Aviation Authority. He was the Vice Chairman and the Executive Director of the Civil Aviation Authority prior to assuming duties as the Vice Chairman of SLPA in October 2015.
