A.m. Tamara P. Athauda

Biography

Professor Tamara Athauda started her academic career subsequent to her brief service as a Superintendent of Audit in the Auditor General’s Department of Sri Lanka following her graduation with B Sc. (Business Administration) from Sri Jayawardanepura University and obtaining post-graduate qualifications. She joined Rajarata University of Sri Lanka in 1999 as a Senior Lecturer after obtaining Masters degree in Business Administration from Tsukuba University of Japan and Ph. D (Agricultural Economics) from the Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences of the University of Tokyo in Japan. She has been working in Wayamba University of Sri Lanka from January 2001, first, as a senior lecturer and then as a Professor from November 2009 to date. During her service in Wayamba University, she has served as the Head of the Department of Agribusiness Management for six years and as the Career Guidance Director for six years. Further, she served as the Visiting Course Director of the Degree Programme of Bachelor of Entrepreneurship and Management, Faculty of Management of Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka for the first four years from the commencement of the degree programme till the first intake of the students are graduated.

Research Interest

Agribusiness and plantation management and many researches have been conducted covering the areas of agricultural entrepreneurship and Innovation, finance, motivation and labour outmigration.
