Biography
Dr Premarathne graduated from University of Peradeniya in 2006 obtaining BVSc with a Second Class Upper (Honours). She then worked as an assistant lecturer at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, University of Peradeniya and commenced MPhil programme. During her time at Peradeniya she has worked widely in public health, laboratory accreditation and quality assurance. Since 2009, she has been working as an assessor in the Sri Lanka Accreditation Board (SLAB) for conformity assessment. In 2012, she was appointed as a Lecturer (Probationary) to the Faculty of Livestock, Fisheries and Nutrition, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka. In 2013, she has obtained her MPhil from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, University of Peradeniya in chemical food safety. Currently, she is reading for Doctor of Philosophy degree in Microbiological food safety at Faculty of Food Science and Technology, University Putra Malaysia, Malaysia.
