M.a. Poorna C. Piyathilaka

Biography

Dr. Piyathilaka obtained her BSc (special) Degree in Zoology with a first class from University of Kelaniya in 2008. Then she acquired a Post Graduate Diploma in Toxicology from Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo in 2015. Subsequently, she achieved PhD in Zoology from University of Sri Jayewardenepura specializing Environmental Molecular Toxicology in 2015. Just after her undergraduate studies, she was recruited to the Department of Zoology, University of Kelaniya as a temporary Demonstrator August 2008 to February 2010. Then she was enrolled to the Department of Zoology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura as a Lecturer (Temporary) two non-consecutive times from 1st March 2010 to 31st July 2011 and 17th November 2014 to 17th November 2016. She joined to the Department of Biotechnology, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka on 1st December 2016. Within her research carrier, she was able to publish her research findings in many international and national, peer reviewed, indexed journals as full paper articles. Also number of abstracts were published in many international and national scientific conferences, proceedings and meetings as oral or poster presentations
