Biography

Dr. R.A Rathnasiri is a Senior Lecturer attached to the Department of Banking and Finance, Faculty of Business Studies and finance, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka..Dr. Rathnasiri received B.Com (Special) Degree from University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka in 1997. In 1999, he received a Postgraduate Diploma in Economic Development from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and Master’s Degree in Economics in 2001 from the same University. He also completed MPhil Degree in Economics at University of Colombo, Sri Lanka before he started his PhD. He completed his PhD in financial intermediation from Wuhan University of Technology, P.R China  in 2012.  Dr. Rathnasiri started his academic career as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Economics, University of Colombo prior to joined to the Department of Banking and Finance, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka in the year 2002.He is the founder member of the Department of Banking and Finance and held the headship of the Department of Banking and Finance number of years from 2003.Dr. Rathnasiri is also founder Director of the Diploma a in Banking and Financial Studies (DBFS) and the Chief Editor of Sri Lankan Journal of Banking and Finance. He serves as a research supervisor at University of kelaniya, University of Colombo, Kotalawala Defense University and Open University of Sri Lanka.
