Biography
Dr. Ranasinghe received her B.VSc. from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, University of Peradeniya in 1998. She obtained her MSc in Animal Science from the Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya and a PhD in Animal Reproduction from Yamaguchi University, Japan. She then carried out post-doctoral work on Prevalence of Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) in LHCGR, FSHR, GHR genes of dairy cattle at University of Glasgow, UK. She joined the Department of Livestock and Avian Sciences in 2002 and extended her service as a Senior Lecturer, Faculty representative for the Senate, Programme Coordinator for the Food production and Technology Management Degree, Co-Activity Coordinator to Activity 1 of QIG-W2 grant of the HETC project. She, as the joint co-ordinator organized the 16th International Conference on Biotechnology in Animal Reproduction in Sri Lanka, in collaboration with Japan.
