Biography

Mr. Zacharius Bernardus Swanepoel, also known as Bernard, BSc (Mining Engineering), BCom (Hons),serves as a Vice President of the South African Chamber of Mines. Mr. Swanepoel has been a Partner of To-the-point Growth Specialists since October 2007. Mr. Swanepoel is a partner in THINKspiration (a leadership and strategy consultancy), founder of To-The-Point Growth Specialists. He founded To the Point Growth Specialists. He serves as Chairman and managing partner of MMC, a privately- owned manganese value added producer and recently created a R1bn resources investment fund in partnership. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Village Main Reef Gold Mining Co. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited from February 1995 to August 1, 2007 and served as its Executive Director from July 11, 2008 to August 8, 2013. He served as a Joint Chief Executive Officer of Village Main Reef Limited from May 4, 2012 to August 8, 2013 and its Executive Director from July 11, 2008 to August 8, 2013. He started his career in gold mining at Grootvlei in 1983. He has approximately 20 years' experience in the mining industry. He served as a Director of Beatrix Mines Limited since 1993. He holds a BCom (Hons) degrees from Unisa and a BSc (Min Eng) degree from the University of Pretoria.
