Biography
After having obtained his PhD in Theoretical Physics in 1993 from the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany, Dirk continued his research first at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum and later at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, NM, USA. In 1999 Dirk joined a start-up company developing solutions based on software agents. Here Dirk built up the quality department and soon got additional operational responsibility as Vice President Operations. Since 2003 Dirk works in the medical device industry, building a track record in quality leadership at Roche Diabetes Care (insulin pumps), F. Hoffmann-La Roche (combination products) and Edwards Lifesciences (biological heart valves), where he led the quality department of the Horw site as Director Quality / Regulatory Affairs.
