Biography
Lars Hillered is Professor of Neurochemistry at Uppsala University and Senior Clinician in Clinical Neurochemistry at the Academic Hospital. Lars's special areas are neurochemical diagnostics in neuronal care, as well as basic and clinical brain injury research. The research focuses primarily on mechanisms for traumatic and neurovascular brain injury and principles for brain-retardant and brain-rejuvenating treatment strategies. Lars Hillered is coordinator of a multidisciplinary network of researchers - Uppsala Brain Injury Center (UBIC) - whose purpose is to improve the treatment possibilities of traumatic brain injury.
