Biography

“Axel Johnson has always been a part of my life. As I was growing up, I saw my mother, Antonia Ax:son Johnson, assume responsibility for the company from my maternal grandfather in 1979. I saw how the responsibility gradually combined with a passion and a creative drive to forge a new corporate group. Commerce was still at the core but a new focus on consumer-driven business took shape. The one million daily contacts with customers became the driving force behind many new business initiatives. I became chairman of the board in March of 2015 and represent, together with my brothers and sisters, the fifth generation of family owners at Axel Johnson. During the past 10+ years that I have worked whole-heartedly in the family company, our corporate history has taken on a deeper meaning. The sense of security and the strength to dare to undertake change are crucial factors – the capacity and drive to develop, transform and create new business opportunities. This is a tradition that I will be happy to build on going forward. Today, we have a strong platform of successful businesses and are well positioned to focus on increased development and renewal. As owners, we are attentive to the transformations taking place in the world around us. Our ambitions to develop the Axel Johnson group’s existing businesses, to create new commercial opportunities with the best staff, are high. At the same time, we will continue to acquire new businesses in the years ahead. We have the capacity to react and make decisions quickly without losing track of our long-term growth objectives.”
