Biography

After graduating from Chemistry Engineering Department of Istanbul Technical University in 1976, she began her career as a a Sales & Marketing Specialist at BioMeriux – Turkey. She continued her successful career at different medical companies founded and directed by herself; BioLab company focused on biochemical tests and markers, laboratory chemicals, consumables. She decided to search for innovations and new tests in USA because of increasing competition in this line of products. She founded BioTest Ltd. company and introduced the first Plano Test, early detection of pregnancy from urine, to the Turkish medical market. She formed the web of local distributors and resellers all around Turkey and increased the product variety. She again went to USA for cancer research in pursuit for new technology. She founded BioGen Medical Instruments company in 1997 and introduced the Immuno Histo Chemistry Antibodies to the Turkish Pathology market. She achieved a big success especially with the Rabbit Monoclonal antibodies (RabMabs) and earned a lot of awards in this line. She also obtained the distributorship of many international suppliers and still represents them proudly in Turkey. Havva Erkan formed BioGen Medical as the top Pathology & Histology & Cytology solution provider to the hospitals all around Turkey. She continues to teach and pass her vast experience of 35-years in the medical field to her sons Sanli, Ismail and Ozgur. She is still working as CEO and General Manager of BioGen Medical Instruments Co. Ltd.
