Biography
Chan is a Senior Research Fellow in the Division of Biological Chemistry and Drug Discovery at University of Dundee. He received training in biochemistry and structural biology and obtained his Ph.D. at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. After completing his Ph.D., he joined the laboratory of Prof. Alessio Ciulli at Dundee, and was later awarded a prestigious Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship to pursue research in chemical biology. He is interested in understanding biological processes at the molecular level and exploiting modulation with small molecules. Currently he is working on chimeric molecules that induce targeted protein degradation through the ubiquitin system and chemical biology tools that address selectivity issue of bromodomain inhibitors.
