Silvian Laura

Biography

Dr. Laura Silvian is a Principal Scientist and heads the Physical Biochemistry and Bioassay groups within the Drug Discovery Department at Biogen in Cambridge, MA. She has focused on the development of novel therapeutics in the small molecule and biologics space for 15 years in the immunology, oncology and neurology therapeutic areas. She has a broad understanding of structural and biophysics techniques for identifying small molecule drugs and early-drug discovery biochemical approaches.

Research Interest

Laura is an inventor or coauthor on more than 40 publications and patents on protein and RNA targets. She conducted postdoctoral work in structural biology in the Ellenberger lab at Harvard Medical School and her Ph.D. studies were focused on tRNA synthetases with Tom Steitz in the Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry department at Yale University.Her intererst in department of Microbiology.
