Biography
Vicky Steadman, Ph.D., Director of Drug Discovery, Discovery, Cypralis Vicky’s journey with macrocycles began with a PhD and post-doc in total synthesis of macrocyclic natural products with Profs Ian Paterson and Amos B. Smith, III. She held senior scientific roles at Merck and GlaxoSmithKline which included two macrocycle projects. Upon joining Selcia in 2008, she was rapidly promoted from Senior Scientist and is currently Director, Discovery. She has led multiple projects for customers including the structural elucidation of macrocyclic peptide Teixobactin, published in Nature, and an initiated an ambitious structural simplification of a macrocyclic natural project that led to clinical candidates. She is named on over 25 papers and patents.
