Biography
Zoran Rankovic is a Director of CBT Chemistry Centers at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. Before joining St. Jude in 2016, he was a research fellow at Eli Lilly in Indianapolis, and medicinal chemistry director at Merck, Schering-Plough and Organon UK. He started his industrial career at Organon in 1995, the same year he earned his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Leeds (UK), under the guidance of Professor Ronald Grigg. During his career Zoran has been fortunate to be able to contribute to and lead teams that delivered multiple clinical candidates for a range of CNS indications, including neurooncology, neurodegeneration, psychiatry and pain. He is an author and co-inventor on over 70 patents, scientific publications and book chapters with over 3,000 citations, and an editor of two books on drug discovery topics.
