Biography
Atli Magnus Seelow is an architect and architectural historian. He received his doctorate in 2009 at Architekturmuseum, Technische Universität München. Atli’s research interests are the history and theory of architecture from the 18th to the 21st century — including the aspects of construction history, conservation and heritage studies. Atli also has a special interest in the Nordic countries and the cultural exchange between the European continent and the North. His research focuses on the relationship between technological innovation and architectural modernism within his project Progress in technology on a basis for modern architecture. His goal is to highlight the relationship between architecture and technology. Atli lectures on architectural history and theory, construction history and building conservation. He is a licensed architect both in Iceland and in Germany, a member of the Icelandic Association of Architects (Arkitektafélag Íslands) as well as the Bavarian Chamber of Architects (Bayerische Architektenkammer). He is also participates in Swedish Architectural History Network and with in the Nordic Society of Structures in Architecture.
