Britt-marie Steenari
Professor
Chemistry and Chemical Engineering
Chalmers University of Technology
Sweden
Biography
Dr. Steenari is conducting research directed towards recovery of metals and other resources from electronic scrap, paint residues and municipal solid waste ash using thermal methods, such as pyrolysis, and hydrochemical methods, i.e. leaching and solvent extraction. To increase the understanding of the materials and processes spectroscopic methods and thermodynamic modeling are used. In addition, Britt-Marie takes part in research in combustion and gasification of biomass and waste doing investigations of the reactions of minerals and metal compounds.
