Biography
Frederik Rietdijk is an industrial doctoral student at the division of Applied Acoustics. He is employed by the Swiss federal institute Empa, where he works at the Laboratory for Acoustics / Noise Control. Frederik's research is part of the SONORUS project. The goal of his research is to develop a tool to auralise aircraft noise in an urban environment which, in a second phase, can be used to determine better indicators for annoyance and sleep disturbance due to aircraft noise. An important topic in his research is the influence of atmospheric turbulence.
