Biography
Gianna Stavroulaki (dr) is a researcher in Architecture and a member of the Spatial Morphology Group (SMoG) since November 2015. She uses advanced spatial analysis applied to modeling the shaping of spatial experience (e.g the spatial construction of seeing, the patterns of moving and exploration in spatial arrangements), and its relation to spatial morphology and social experience. She conducts both fundamental research aimed at understanding principles and applied research aimed at informing areas of professional practice, both at urban and building scale. Before joining the SMoG, she had been working as a freelance architect and researcher in Athens, and has collaborated with national universities of Greece (NTUA, Univ. of the Aegean). Since 2012, she was an invited lecturer at the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens.
