Biography
Ivan is a Industrial doctoral student at the Division of Applied Acoustics, research group Vibroacoustics, at Chalmers. He works on the CHARMEC VB11 project “Abatement of Curve Squeal from Trains” that deals with the strong tonal noise that arises when railway vehicles negotiate tight curves. He focuses on advanced contact mechanics, dynamics of contacting bodies, friction models and parameter study. The goals of his research are the development of an engineering model and the identification of the dominant parameters that affect the curve squeal phenomenon and thus to provide a better understanding of it.
