Biography
Maria researches design and development within different cultures. She performs large amounts of her research in Africa, where she runs the project East Africa Urban Academy. She works with transdisciplinary research which means that she researches on and traces connections between architecture, eco-tourism and marketing. Her goal is to create a working cooperation between industry, education and society. She is also active within the project Homes for Tomorrow where she leads the group for Design and Architecture. The project, a co-operation with NASA, focuses on finding methods for sustainability and stable building with a minimal use of resources.
