Greg Gocal

Biography

With an extensive background in molecular biology, Greg joined Cibus in 2000 and has been central in developing Cibus' patented technology. Greg received his PhD in Plant Molecular Biology from the Australian National University and worked at CSIRO Plant Industry in Canberra, Australia. He continued his studies of floral initiation/development as a postdoctoral scientist at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in San Diego. Prior to joining Cibus, he headed the molecular biology group of the Plant and Industrial Products Division at ValiGen and earned a BSc in Biochemistry/Botany and an MSc in Plant Physiology from the University of Calgary. Among other accomplishments, Greg has spearheaded internal programs for Cibus, authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and is a co-inventor of several patent applications. Greg is based in the Cibus corporate office in San Diego.
