Biography
Professor Haanen specializes in Internal Medicine with emphasis on medical oncology in the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek (AVL) as well as researcher at the department immunotherapy of the Dutch Cancer Institute. He is an expert in treatment of patients with metastasized melanoma (skin cancer) or kidney cancer. His research also focuses on enhancing the immune response against these types of cancer. Finally, he coordinates multi-center clinical trials for many new immunotherapeutics.
