Biography
Dr. Björkegren is the founder of CGN and Associate Professor in Molecular Medicine at the Karolinska Institutet where he is the head of the Cardiovascuar Genomics group (cardiovasculargenomics.se) at the Division of Vascular Biology and Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics. He is also Professor of genetics and genomics at the Department of Genetics and Genomic Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, NY US. Since 2010, Johan Björkegren is professor in molecular pathology at the Department of Medical Pathology and Forensic Medicine, University of Tartu, Estonia. Since 2013, Björkegren is chair of the board in CGN and main shareholder.
Research Interest
His research interests lie in Healthcare and Medical Sciences. He is the Editor-in-Chief Member of many peer reviewed journals and his area of expertise credits him with many publications in national and international journals.
