Kristoffer Ström is an Associate researcher in diabetes in Diabetes Center Malmoe, Sweden
Research Interest
Kristoffer Ström research interest is the effect of exercise on both health and performance. He is an affiliated researcher with the Swedish Winter Sports Research Centre (SWSRC) in Östersund where he involved in several exercise intervention studies. Currently working with two studies aiming at elucidating gene activating signatures in skeletal muscle (1) in response to low- and high intensity exercise in highly trained athletes, and (2) in response to severe energy deficiency by caloric restriction and large volume low intensity exercise in overweight men. In collaboration with researchers in Finland I am also investigating the long-term (5 years) effects of strength training on skeletal muscle using RNA sequencing and chromatin immunoprecipitation analyzed with sequencing (ChIp-seq).
