Biography
Per-Ola Carlsson is a professor of medical cell biology and is active at both the Department of Medical Cell Biology and the Diabetes Department at the Academic Hospital. He develops new therapies that can terminate the disease process in the long term at Type 1 diabetes.
Research Interest
His main research is how to stop the development of type 1 diabetes, and about the potential for transplanting insulin-producing cells and how to create new insulin-producing cells through stimulated cell division.
