Biography
Brian Neville was the first paediatric neurology professor in the UK at University College and Great Ormond Street Hospital. He also developed a strong working relationship with the paediatric epilepsy unit at Lingfield, which is now known as Young Epilepsy. He has written over 250 peer-reviewed papers and many book chapters. His fields of research have been recently the impairments that occur with epilepsy, both their mechanisms and the effect of these impairments on the developing brain, particularly in school. Epidemiological studies have included work in Africa and the UK on status epilepticus and epilepsy generally. Febrile seizures remain an important part of the work.
