Biography

 Christina Kadesjö is a social worker and certified psychotherapist. She put forward her doctoral thesis on ADHD in preschool children in 2002. Since then Christina’s research has dealt primarily with children and adolescents with acting-out behaviours and parent support. Christina previously worked in Karlstad, where she developed models for supporting families of preschool children who present with a suspicion of neuropsychiatric conditions. Between 2003 and 2007 Christina worked as a supervisor at Atferdssenteret in Oslo, supporting and quality assuring the implementation of Multisystemic Therapy (MST) at Barnevernet. She has also been part of the planning of an evaluation of MST in Sweden. Christina has initiated the implementation and tryout in Sweden of an evidence-based family support model, The Family Check Up, financially supported by the National Board of Health and Welfare and the Swedish National Institute of Public Health. She has also led a research group that has developed a model for general parent support that has been implemented and tested in a Gothenburg borough. Christina has initiated the introduction of PBIS (Positive Behaviour Intervention Support) in Sweden and is licensed to train supervisors to practice the model. PBIS is a research-based, internationally tested school-wide model to counteract behavioural problems and to support the learning environment in schools  is a social worker and certified psychotherapist.
