Biography
Joakim Westerlund is an associate professor and employed as senior lecturer of psychology, especially psychological research method and psychometrics, at the Department of Psychology at Stockholm University. He put forward his thesis, in which he studied how cognitive rules of thumb are used in probability assessments, in 1999, and has, among other things, done research on unconscious processes, personality psychology and how people see patterns even in things that are completely random.
Research Interest
In recent years he has been active in several research projects on autism and ADHD, primarily together with Elisabeth Fernell. Joakim Westerlund has published around forty articles and has also, together with Elisabeth Borg, written a statistics textbook, Statistics for behavioural scientists, which is used in many education programmes
